Putin arrived at Xi's for tea; Discussion of key issues behind closed doors
Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in China today for a two-day working visit, where he was welcomed at the airport by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, according to the Russian news agency Sputnik.
Putin will stay in Beijing on May 19 and 20, and his work schedule is very busy, according to the Russian state news agency TASS.
The main part of President Vladimir Putin’s working visit to China is scheduled for tomorrow and will begin with an official welcoming ceremony for the Russian delegation at Tiananmen Square.
After the ceremony, Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping will hold talks at the Great Hall of the People.
Following the meeting, the two sides will sign joint documents, and the leaders will address the media.
Later in the day, Putin and Xi will also participate in the opening ceremony of the Year of Russian-Chinese Cooperation in Education.
