Thought it was over? Experts release 'Hellish Map' showing Serbia in the heatwave's path
Another powerful heatwave, the sixth of the season, sweeps Southern and Central Europe.
The highest temperatures are expected from Thursday through Saturday.
In northern Italy, eastern Croatia, Hungary, northern Serbia, as well as parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, maximum temperatures could reach 42°C to 43°C.
In Central Europe, including Germany and the Alpine region, temperatures will reach 32°C to 36°C on Thursday, while the heat will spread eastward over the weekend toward the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and western Ukraine, Severe Weather Europe reports.
As the heat moves eastward, there is also a significant risk of severe storms in France on Thursday.
The heatwave will gradually shift eastward and northeastward over the weekend, while cooler weather will arrive in Western Europe.
Long-range forecasts indicate that the dynamic and warm weather pattern will persist into early September.
