Temperatures in Belgrade and Novi Sad reached 36°C, while Palić, Kikinda, Banatski Karlovac, Sremska Mitrovica and Valjevo recorded 35°C.

A red weather alert is in effect in Bačka, Banat and Pomoravlje, while an orange weather alert is in place in other parts of the country.

The State Hydrometeorological Institute of Serbia (RHMZ) has issued a warning for a prolonged heatwave across Serbia, with maximum temperatures expected to range from 35°C to 38°C, and locally reaching up to 40°C.

According to the latest forecasts, the heatwave will be most intense from August 5 to 8, when maximum daily temperatures of around 40°C are expected in most areas.

From August 8 to 13, the intensity of the heat will decrease, with local weather instability and daily highs ranging from 30°C to 35°C. After that, temperatures are expected to rise again, with the heatwave continuing.

Tropical nights are forecast in Vojvodina and Belgrade.

The unfavorable biometeorological conditions are expected to intensify the usual symptoms experienced by people with chronic illnesses and those who are sensitive to weather changes. They are advised to exercise caution, follow their doctors' recommendations, reduce physical activity, and use adequate protection from UV radiation.

Weather-related reactions may include sleep disturbances and reduced ability to work.

Drivers and other road users are advised to exercise increased caution and maintain greater concentration.
