Meanwhile, 32-year-old Daniela Largos Sánchez was rescued alive today from beneath the rubble in Pereira, following an operation that lasted around 36 hours after the magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck Colombia on Monday, August 10, El Colombiano reported.

The rescue operation involved the Bogotá Fire Department, the National Search and Rescue Police Unit, and the Pereira Fire Department.

During the rescue operation, excavation work was carried out to reach the depth where Daniela was trapped. Following the building’s collapse, four concrete slabs had fallen on top of her.

A Colombian rescue team had previously rescued another woman who spent around 30 hours trapped beneath the rubble of a residential building following the devastating earthquake that struck the country, Sky News reported.

The woman, identified as Diana Troncoso, is in her early 30s and was alone in her apartment in the city of Cali when the earthquake struck. Local media reported that she is in stable condition.

More than 250 people were killed in the devastating magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck Colombia on Monday.

More than 700 people were injured, while around 200 are still reported missing.
