Serbia and Croatia establish New League – Red Star and Partizan confirm participation

Among the clubs that have confirmed their participation are Belgrade giants Red Star and Partizan.

The new league will feature four clubs from Serbia and four from Croatia, marking the return of Serbian and Croatian women's clubs to a joint cross-border competition, six years after the last edition of the Regional League.

According to the agreement between the federations, Serbia will be represented by the four highest-placed teams from the previous season — Vojvodina, Palilula, Partizan and Red Star.

On the Croatian side, Jadran Split, Mladost, Jug and Viktorija are expected to participate, with official confirmation from the Croatian clubs expected by the end of the week.

The competition will not follow the traditional home-and-away format, but will instead be played through two tournaments — one in Serbia and one in Croatia.

Each Serbian club will play two matches against Croatian opponents, while the results of head-to-head matches played in the respective domestic championships will also count toward the final regional standings.

After the tournament phase, the four highest-ranked teams will qualify for the Final Four. The dates of the final tournament will be coordinated with the schedules of the domestic championships and the international calendar for national team commitments.

The last joint edition of the Women's Regional League was held six years ago, with Palilula, Red Star, Jadran and Mladost among the participating teams.
