"Dolphins" beat Spain to claim bronze and make history!
Serbia’s men’s water polo team won the bronze medal at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto today.
The “Dolphins” defeated Spain 12-8 to win Serbia’s record 36th medal at this year’s Games in Italy.
Vasilije Martinović was Serbia’s top scorer with six goals, while Bogdan Gavrilović added two.
For Spain, Pol Daura Gomes led the scoring with three goals.
The Serbian delegation finished the Mediterranean Games in Taranto with a record 36 medals, surpassing its previous best of 35 medals won in Pescara in 2009.
Of Serbia’s 36 medals, athletes won seven gold, 10 silver and 19 bronze.
The closing ceremony of the 20th Mediterranean Games in Taranto will take place tonight at 8 p.m. at the Erasmo Iacovone Stadium.
