A dramatic situation in Smederevo ended when an unidentified younger man, after speaking with police officers, agreed to come down from the roof of the police station, where he had been threatening to jump.

Strong police forces were present at the scene, along with firefighters and rescue teams who deployed an air cushion in front of the building.

“There is police everywhere, firefighters have set up a cushion, and people are stopping to watch what is happening. Police officers are on the roof talking to him and trying to calm him down,” a passerby told the Regional Information News Agency (RINA), after finding themselves near the police station.

The circumstances under which the man ended up on the roof of the police station are still unknown.
