“If they are trusted to such an extent, that means they have influence over Trump and that he trusts them. We are not refusing to talk to them. If they come, they know that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to receive them again. The question, however, is what they will bring to the table,” Lavrov said in an interview with Russian media.

The minister also said that Russia had asked the U.S. State Department for information about U.S. involvement in Ukrainian strikes on civilian facilities inside Russia.

According to Lavrov, it is not possible to consider a ceasefire along the line of contact in Ukraine.

“If we were to suddenly stop along the line of contact, we would allow the achievements of our ancestors who defeated Nazism to be erased. That cannot be considered. And it is not just about how comfortably people live today; our people are dying in terrorist attacks. It is about our responsibility for the thousand-year history of the Russian state,” Lavrov said.
