Before the Special Department for Combating Corruption of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, three members of the Intervention Unit 92 of the Duty Service of the Belgrade City Police Department, as well as the manager of the hospitality venue “Steak and Wine Bar,” were questioned over suspicion of committing various criminal offenses after a firearm was used in that establishment in the presence of numerous guests on November 5, 2025.

The suspects—deputy commander of Intervention Unit 92 of the Belgrade City Police Department Mitar J., assistant commander of the unit Jugoslav S., and intervention team leader Nenad S.—denied the criminal charges and presented their defenses.

The manager of the mentioned establishment, Darko Ž., exercised his legal right to remain silent and did not present a defense.

Following the questioning, the prosecution proposed to the investigating judge of the Higher Court in Belgrade that suspects Jugoslav S. and Nenad S. be placed in detention to prevent possible influence on witnesses and repetition of the alleged offenses in a short period of time.

For Darko Ž., detention was also proposed on the grounds of possible repetition of the offense, while for Mitar J. a measure prohibiting leaving his apartment with electronic monitoring has been proposed.

The commander of Intervention Unit 92 of the Duty Service of the Belgrade City Police Department, Dušan N., and the intervention team leader Nikola K. were questioned yesterday, and at the proposal of the prosecution, the investigating judge ordered their detention for up to 30 days.

Dušan N., Mitar J., and Jugoslav S. are charged with the criminal offense of Trading in Influence in complicity.

The intervention team leaders of the said unit, Nenad S. and Nikola K., are each charged with one count of Abuse of Official Position, while the manager of the hospitality venue Darko Ž. is charged with Failure to Report a Criminal Offense and Perpetrator and Assisting the Perpetrator After the Commission of a Criminal Offense.

Saša V. will be questioned later on suspicion of committing the offenses of Causing General Danger and Unauthorized Production, Possession, Carrying and Trafficking of Weapons and Explosive Materials, as he is already in custody in another case in which he is charged with Aggravated Murder.

There is reasonable suspicion that Dušan N., Mitar J., and Jugoslav S., on November 5, 2025, between 18:00 and 19:00, using their official positions and actual influence, acted as intermediaries toward suspects Nenad S. and Nikola K. to prevent them from carrying out official duties that they were legally required to perform.

It is suspected that, while sitting in the same office, they were informed by an unidentified “superior” that a fight and gunfire had occurred at the “Steak and Wine Bar” restaurant. They then allegedly coordinated exerting influence on their subordinate team leaders Nenad S. and Nikola K. by calling them and instructing them not to take certain actions, including not dispatching an investigative team, not securing the crime scene, not conducting an investigation or collecting evidence, not informing the competent prosecutor’s office, and presenting the incident as a verbal dispute and an ordinary bar fight.

After that, Dušan N. allegedly contacted the station commander of Voždovac Police Station instead of the investigative team, telling him that an ordinary bar fight had occurred between two individuals and that no investigation or further police actions were necessary, without informing him that firearms had also been used.

Nenad S. and Nikola K. are suspected that after arriving at the “Steak and Wine Bar” as team leaders of the Intervention Unit, acting under official orders and contrary to the Law on Police, the Regulation on Special and Special Units of the Police, and internal regulations of the Serbian Ministry of Interior, upon learning that a fight and gunfire had occurred, they failed to notify the investigative team or the competent prosecutor, failed to secure the scene, failed to collect statements from witnesses, failed to complete required documentation, failed to register the event, and failed to undertake other legally mandated actions.

In that way, they allegedly provided an advantage to Saša V. by failing to file a criminal report for the offenses of Causing General Danger and Unauthorized Production, Possession, Carrying and Trafficking of Weapons and Explosive Materials, while also causing harm to a person known by the nickname “Runjo” by preventing him from exercising his rights as an injured party in a court proceeding.

Darko Ž. is suspected of, as the responsible person and director of the hospitality venue “Steak and Wine Bar,” knowingly failing to report a criminal offense he became aware of while performing his duties, since after the fight and shooting in the establishment he did not report the crime, although he had witnessed it.

He is also suspected of assisting the perpetrator in concealing traces of the crime in order to prevent detection, first by telling police officers from the Voždovac Police Station who arrived at the scene that a hole in the glass was from an earlier incident and not from the event in question, and by claiming there had been no fight in the premises, only a verbal dispute, despite having witnessed the incident.

He then allegedly instructed his employees to clean the crime scene in order to erase evidence, replaced the damaged glass the following day, and deleted surveillance footage from the security system between November 5 and November 8, 2025.

At the request of the police, he later handed over the recorder with deleted footage, along with a receipt confirming the temporarily seized items.

Saša V. is suspected of having, on November 5, 2025, at around 6:00 p.m., by using a firearm, endangered the life and body of people by, after a verbal dispute and physical altercation with a person known as “Runjo,” drawing a Glock 17 Generation 5 pistol from his waistband, for which he did not have a valid carry permit issued by the competent authority, and firing it inside a venue where a large number of guests were present, with the projectile piercing the glass door of the establishment.
