France and Germany have launched an initiative to develop European digital infrastructure, while some countries and institutions are seeking to reduce their dependence on American technology and strengthen digital sovereignty.

Although France is promoting its domestic company ChapsVision, and other European solutions such as the military Artemis AI system are being developed, many officials acknowledge that there is currently no serious replacement for Palantir, especially in military operations.

NATO has stated that Palantir's technology for analyzing battlefield data and satellite imagery has no equal competitor, further complicating Europe's plans for technological independence.

Palantir's growing influence

Palantir built its presence in Europe during major crises. After the terrorist attacks in Paris in 2015, French security services began using its software, while German police and the UK's National Health Service adopted its platforms during security and healthcare challenges.

Over time, the company has become an important part of the operations of many government institutions, although some organizations believe that sufficiently capable and more affordable alternatives exist for their needs.

Palantir is now further expanding its influence in Europe through cooperation with NATO, where its Maven system has become operational on classified networks used by allies. At the same time, its solutions are used by major European companies such as Airbus, BMW and BP, showing that the company's reach extends far beyond the public sector.

Europe's approach to Palantir could become a key test of its digital sovereignty. If European governments and companies succeed in developing their own competitive solutions, they will take an important step toward technological independence.
