Peskov also said that Russia will continue to increase pressure on the Kyiv regime in order to achieve its objectives.

He added that Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov had briefed Russian President Vladimir Putin on the results of the latest large-scale strike by Russian forces on military and paramilitary targets in Kyiv, as a form of retaliation.

“This morning, during his daily report to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, General Staff Chief Gerasimov also reported on the results of a massive retaliatory strike by Russian armed forces on Kyiv and other populated areas, in the context of strikes, of course, exclusively on military or near-military targets,” Peskov said.

According to him, Russia’s reliable security and its interests will be guaranteed under all circumstances, whether through more decisive or more restrained measures.

“As for discussions on how to ensure it, you know that there are those who support, including academics, very, very decisive measures, and there are also those who favor more restrained measures. But one thing should be beyond doubt: the reliable security of the Russian Federation and its national interests will be guaranteed in any case,” he concluded.
