Kayaks full of people overturned on the Tara; A tourist has died

The tragedy at the Borovi site occurred after several kayaks carrying members of a tourist group overturned, although the rest managed to save themselves from the swollen river.

As confirmed to Avaz by the head of the “Vulf” rescue service from Foča, Nenad Ikonić, the tourist’s body was found yesterday at the Milutinov Kamen location, about two kilometers downstream from Šćepan Polje.

“Tara is known as a beautiful but fast and powerful river, especially during periods of heavy rainfall and increased water levels. That is why we urge tourists to be extra cautious, to shorten their starting point in such conditions, and to begin rafting from the Grab location,” Ikonić said.
