“New toll: 7 dead”
A new prisoner exchange is being prepared
Russia and Ukraine are working on lists for the exchange, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.
“Work is currently underway on coordinating the lists. This is the most difficult part of the process, and it is progressing very quickly,” Peskov said, according to TASS.
Earlier, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov announced that Russia had agreed to an initiative by U.S. President Donald Trump to establish a ceasefire with Ukraine from May 9 to May 11 and to carry out a prisoner exchange with Kyiv on a “1,000 for 1,000” basis during that period.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on May 11 that Ukraine had submitted lists of Ukrainian prisoners of war to the United States for a potential exchange with Russia.
